Blue Island is a historic city about 15 miles from downtown Chicago and 10 miles from our truck accessories store in Tinley Park. For commuters Blue Island’s six Metra train stations provide easy access to Chicago and surrounding destinations, however for drivers all the commercial and passenger trains that crisscross Blue Island can make getting around frustrating at times. The city is bordered by Alsip, Calumet Park, Morgan Park, Robbins, Posen and Dixmoor. In 1901 Blue Island incorporated as a city to avoid annexation by Chicago and In 1915 residents rejected annexation while nearby Morgan Park joined Chicago.
One of the best things about Blue Island is the historic homes and landmarks scattered around the city. Blue Island has been a blue collar, working class, industrial city and a major hub for transportation in Chicagoland for decades, however it boosts one of the nations top recognized cardiovascular primary care centers in MetroSouth Medical Center formally Saint Francis Hospital.
Although Blue Island is a very beautiful city, to get some great deals on truck accessories and Jeep parts you’ll need to come south a little bit to CPW Truck Stuff.
The easiest way to reach our custom installation shop, if you want to avoid the trains and the traffic on 127th, is jump on I-57 going south then take I-80 westbound towards Iowa and get off at the Harlem Ave south exit. Come down to the first light which is 191st (you’ll see TGI Fridays) and make a right. Come down to the first building on your left and drive around back to reach our gate.
