Nestled between the communities of Joliet, Bolingbrook, Plainfield, and Lemont sits Romeoville. A charming suburb about 25 miles southwest of Chicago adjacent to the Des Plaines River. With easy access to two major highways, the Veterans Memorial Highway (I-355) and the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), residents can quickly reach all parts of the metro area.
Orginally Romeoville was called Romeo when nearby Joliet was still called Juliet. At this time, the settlements had an ongoing rivalry, and although Joliet is known as the “Stone City” it was Romeoville that was famous for its stone quarries even before Joliet. Many years later these two communities still have close ties, in fact, Joliet Junior College recently upgraded their Romeoville campus from 35,000 square feet to now 49,000 square feet to better serve the needs of an increasing student population in Will County.
Some other points of interest in Romeoville include the National Weather Service Chicago, Lewis University’s main campus (they have a Tinley Park campus as well) and the towns new crown jewel the Edward Hospital Athletic & Event Center. This state of the art facility is 75,000 square feet of climate controlled expo space complete with wi-fi, concessions and tons of space for spectators this is a facility that the village is surely proud of.
Unfortunately, the one thing Romeoville is lacking is a good Jeep and Truck customization shop for lift kit installations, wheels & tire packages, and tonneau cover installs. Luckily for you, CPW Truck Stuff is a short drive South on I-355 and East on I-80 for a total travel time of only 30 minutes. Stop by today so we can show your ultimate ride some love!
